Tips and secrets, cheats and codes

10 tips: 5 Secrets - 4 Easter Eggs and Glitches - 1 Personal tip

Secrets:
How do you prevent random battles while moving Rolf and his friends?
Big Boss
13133
While moving Rolf and friends in Phantasy Star Collection, make sure to spam the ''B'' button as much as you can. This will bring up and down the menus every time your characters take a step, so you won't encounter any random battles!

Secrets:
How can my characters in Phantasy Star Collection become invisible in dungeons?
Big Boss
13133
Let all your team members get knocked out in battle, except for Nei. Have Nei cast Nasak on herself, and she should knock herself out. This will make your characters invisible, allowing you to freely roam through dungeons in Phantasy Star Collection.

Easter Eggs and Glitches:
How can I instantly win a battle in Phantasy Star Collection on GBA?
Big Boss
13133
You can instantly win a battle if you have the following situation: 1. Surprise the enemy 2. Use a character ability that costs less TP than a spell. Instead of fighting, choose the "single player command" option and have that character try to cast an ability for which they do not have enough TP. You will receive a message like "Not enough technical points," and then emerge as the victor immediately. Very handy when you are weak and facing multiple enemies. This does not work unless you surprise the enemy.

Secrets:
How can I play in slow motion in Phantasy Star Collection on my GameBoy Advance?
Big Boss
13133
When you pause Phantasy Star Collection, click and hold B, then resume playing. The game will then play in slow motion.

Personal tip:
How can I reveal the king's secret in Phantasy Star Collection?
Big Boss
13133
17 jaar
Go all the way back to the beginning of the Phantasy Star Collection game, head to the shop, and sell Rhys' Boots and Garment to earn some money. Then, with that money, buy an Escapipe. Proceed with the story as usual. Once Rhys is sent to the dungeon by the king, use the Escapipe to teleport outside the cell and go back up the stairs. You will now be trapped in the area with no way to progress the story. None of the soldiers will interact with you, and when you talk to the king, he will say:

"You've used your escape! Normally a smart move, but I'm afraid the game cannot continue. Press the Reset button and start over."

Secrets:
How can I have armor, even if I don't physically possess it?
Big Boss
13133
It is possible to have armor, even if you don't own it... first make sure you have at least two armors in possession of a character.

1. Go to the equipment screen of Phantasy Star Collection and select the armor you want to keep equipped.

2. This is the tricky part... equipping armor... when it says "...takes armor," press a confirmation button and quickly press DOWN to the next armor below and equip that shield. You have to do it fast enough so that you only see a slight change in attack, defense, and/or agility by switching equipment.

3. You'll know if the glitch worked if you can't remove the first piece of armor. Now you can give the armor to another character! Who says you can't have powerful equipment like the NEIMET on just one character?

To cancel the glitch, simply equip another piece of armor over the affected armor slot.

It may take a few attempts to get the glitch to work, as equipping must be done very quickly.

Easter Eggs and Glitches:
How can I switch game music in Phantasy Star Collection using the slow motion code?
Big Boss
13133
With this trick, you can make different music play in different areas using the slow motion code. First, go to the area with the music you want, like the weapon shop for example. Then press start and hold down B. The game will move in slow motion without sound, so you can still move around. Now go to another place and release B, then press Start. The music from the place where you first pressed B and Start will now play in this area of Phantasy Star Collection!

Secrets:
How can I start infinite robot police battles in the Triad Prison?
Big Boss
13133
The robot police in the Triada Prison will always appear as soon as you walk into the square where it is located, even after you have defeated it and taken a step back to make it return. It yields a solid 100-150 MST and 25 EXP per battle. Not as good as the sandworms (Mountain Range west of Uzo) because they give more MST and EXP, along with multiplying due to the number of enemies fought, but a good temporary stop until you get the Laser Gun at Skure, making Sandworms easier to kill in Phantasy Star Collection.

Easter Eggs and Glitches:
How can I improve the character statistics at the end of the game?
Big Boss
13133
A glitch in the game allows you to always have Laya or Kara go first in battle and be immune to physical attacks, while moderately boosting the speed and defense of the rest of your party.

The glitch is triggered in Skyhaven, when the legendary weapons are transformed into Nei weapons.

1. Decide who you want to go first and be immune to physical attacks - Laya or Kara.

2. Remove all items from that person.

3. Make sure all others have their respective legendary weapons equipped (Orakio Sword, Miun Claw, Siren Shot, Laya Bow, Lune Slicer).

4. Talk to the second old man from the left, who will say: "Nei is the word of ultimate power".

5. Check your status screens. For the unequipped person, attack and defense should be in the range of 64,000, and speed around 220. For the others, the attack, defense, and speed bonuses from the legendary weapon they had equipped will be permanently added to their base stats. (Unfortunately, none of the attack stat increases affect damage dealt in battle).

The only way the person with 64,000 defense will take damage is from a Gnasher (dealing a maximum of 4 damage) or from techniques (which are not affected). They will always act first.

There are 3 side effects that may seem alarming, but are actually harmless.

1. Colors will be unusual - this will be corrected once you view your menu and leave Skyhaven.

2. The last person in line will be shifted from their position - this will be corrected once you leave Skyhaven, and the person not in line will not prevent you from moving.

3. Characters will be renamed - this is permanent but harmless.

Easter Eggs and Glitches:
How can I skip Nial's generation in Phantasy Star Collection for GBA?
Big Boss
13133
A glitch called the escapipe glitch allows players to skip directly from Nial's generation to playing as Aron. Aron will have to do part of Nial's quest, but it goes much faster and easier with Aron, thanks to his healing abilities and access to the Aero parts.

1. As Rhys, make sure Wren or Mieu has an escapipe before you fight the king of Cille.

2. After defeating the king, choose Nial's route by marrying Lena. (Do not choose Maia, as the glitch does not work for Ayn.)

3. Once the cutscene is over and you can move, go to your menu and use an escapipe.

4. As Nial, return to the dungeon of Cille. Walk through it again (you will only encounter Chirpers). The king and Maia will be waiting in the same place as for Rhys, defeat him once more (an easy task with full HP/TP and a stronger leader).

5. Select Aron's route by marrying Alair. (Do not choose Laya, as Adan cannot complete his quest.)

At this point, you will play as Aron. The sub-parts, Laya Pendant, Twins Ruby, and Mystery Star that Aron comes with are "counterfeits" that do not work, so Aron will have to collect the real ones as Nial would have done.

6. Collect the Aero parts as usual.

7. Fly to the rebel hideout and pick up the sub-parts.

8. Go to Hazatak and use the caves to reach Landen, Aquatica, and then Aridia.

9. Obtain Laya as usual.

10. Go to Mystoke and get the Laya pendant.

From this point on, complete the game as usual.
