One of the lesser-known Final Fantasy games, but certainly not the least
Final Fantasy V is an RPG from the Final Fantasy series that is quite unknown compared to the other games. This is because it was initially released only in Japan for the Super Famicom and only many years later in other countries for the PS1, but where this game truly excels is on the GBA under the name 'Final Fantasy V Advance'.
Final Fantasy V Advance includes, among other things, improved graphics, a newer translation, new areas, and 4 new, so-called, jobs.

These 'jobs' and the 'Job system' are where Final Fantasy V truly shines for me. 'Jobs' are basically just different classes. When you start the game, you begin with the Freelancer class, and as you progress through the game, you unlock more classes, totaling 26 jobs. Each class has its own characteristics and skills, and by playing with a certain class, you can earn skill points and unlock even more skills specific to that class. And here's the best part, the skills you unlock can also be used with other jobs, giving you a lot of freedom in customizing your team and trying out different combinations. Additionally, the 'Freelancer' class retains all the benefits you receive when you complete another class entirely. This makes the 'Freelancer' job increasingly better later in the game.

Furthermore, the jobs also influence the game's difficulty level. Each job has its own advantages and disadvantages, so especially in the beginning of the game, don't be surprised if an opponent turns out to be too strong for you because you assigned the wrong classes to your players. Personally, I don't mind this because I enjoy a challenge and it allows you to experiment with different jobs until you find a setup that works best for you and gives you the most enjoyment while playing the game.

Each of the four characters you play with also has unique costumes for each job, which I find to be a really nice detail.

The story is good, but not outstanding. Unlike other Final Fantasy games, it is somewhat less profound and moving, and in many cases, predictable. Nevertheless, it remains a good story with many humorous moments interspersed throughout.

All in all, I find Final Fantasy V to be a real gem that truly shines with its jobs. It's a game that will provide hours of entertainment, and if you decide to get it, I highly recommend going for the GBA version, 'Final Fantasy V Advance'.
