A great improvement compared to the previous one!
I really find this Advance Wars to be a significant improvement over the first version.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, you play on a map and have a lot more freedom of choice. In this game, you can eventually play as every faction along with its various commanders. In the first one, you could only play as Orange Star. This is because now you have to (directly) fight against Black Hole. It has been significantly expanded with a very dangerous arsenal. There are stronger tanks, gigantic factories, and big cannons. Well, you'll find out when you play.

I really think Advance Wars 2 is a very good game, just like the previous Advance Wars. But the improvements make this one much better in my opinion. Even the childishness has decreased slightly. The atmosphere is a bit darker and more mature. The 'kiddy' aspect is still there, but to a lesser extent.

This is truly a recommendation. You can play this one even without having played the first Advance Wars. Although it does get quite challenging quickly, so some experience is helpful.

So, in this game, all the positive aspects of the previous Advance Wars return, now with even more excitement and multiple possibilities and challenges. It's hard to get any better, if you ask me!
